A STORY WRITTEN WITH A MOTHER'S HEART

The history of “ New Caterina Boutique ” began with Caterina Bartolo who in 1969 opened a small fabric and haberdashery shop together with her husband, Antonino Di Malta.

One of the first shops on the island of Lampedusa. A point of reference for all islanders and holidaymakers, it displayed a pretty sign at the entrance that described the product sectors it sold: “Da Caterina Bartolo … non tutto ma di tutto”.

Passion for details and attention to the customer are the family teachings that the children inherited in 1983; following the company transformation, “New Caterina Boutique” took its first steps in the fashion field by converting the haberdashery into a real clothing and footwear store, dealing with the most famous brands of the moment. A turning point that continues to arouse, even today, interest and appreciation from customers for designer and always trendy clothing.

First Company also in the creation of the first Lampedusa gadget during the early 80s: linen shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, beach towels, sarongs, bags with the registered trademark “ Tartadusa ” ; a stylised little turtle chosen to identify the island of Lampedusa, as well as the Caretta Caretta turtle that every year visits the beach of the Isola dei Conigli (defined as one of the most beautiful and uncontaminated places in the world) to lay its eggs.

Entirely family-run, the company has achieved significant and progressive growth that has led to the opening of new stores and the renovation of existing ones. The company's strength is also the synergy that develops between the different stores in Lampedusa, located on the main street, Via Roma, inside the airport station and in Via Crispi.

In recent years, the company has also presented itself as an online store to be ever closer to its customers!
